Unemployment Finally Returns to “Normal”?

According to new data released by the state Department of Labor, after hitting historic highs in 2020, Long Island’s unemployment has finally returned to pre-pandemic levels.

According to the DOL, the unemployment rate for January and February for Long Island was 3.5 percent and 3.7 percent.

The last time unemployment rates were that low was in January 2020, when the unemployment rate was at 3.9 percent.
